We invite you toEscape to tranquility, nature and relaxation. Take your pick from two cozy log cabins nestled in the Georgia Pines of White Tail Run, a new retirement and second home community. White Tail Run is located minutes from Richard B. Russell Lake and State Park, where you will find world class bass fishing and golf, boating and water skiing, or beaches and picnic areas for relaxing with your family. We're minutes from state parks, historic sites, and several challenging golf courses. Quaint small towns nearby offer everything from antiques and marine supplies to fine dining and coffee shops. Lake Richard B. Russell was completed in 1984 as a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project promoting the responsible use of public lands with a minimum impact on the environment. The Corps directly operates and maintains 26,650 acres of water with 540 miles of pristine, unspoiled and picturesque shoreline including a 300 foot setback, thereby offering a unique experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Private docks are not allowed on the lake and wildlife such as deer and wild turkey flourish in this undeveloped area surrounding the lake. With Lake Russellís unique location nestled between Lake Hartwell and Lake Strom Thurmond, lake levels remain relatively stable throughout the year and are maintained within 5 feet of full pool (475 feet) by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. During the construction of Lake Russell, anglerís needs as well as the needs of the fish were kept in mind. Many acres of forest were left uncut to form a natural habitat for largemouth bass, spotted bass, and crappie. Therefore, it is not surprising that Lake Russell is home to various Bass Tournaments throughout each year. White Tail Run is located approximately one mile from the entrance of Richard B. Russell State Park. Within the park, our guests will find the closest public boat ramp, Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course, a large public beach, a frisbee golf course, picnic areas, and nature trails. Arrowhead Point Golf Course offers outstanding views of the lake and has been named 2nd Best New Affordable Public Course in America by Golf Digest in 2005. If you canít get enough golf at Arrowhead Pointe, try nearby semi-private Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell. Cateechee is an Audubon Signature Course, just named a "Four-Star" destination by Golf Digest. Both cabins are available for group rentals and can sleep 4-8 people. We cater to fishermen, golferís, and families and are currently working with the State of Georgia offering golf packages that include lodging, greens fees, cart rental, and breakfast at Arrowhead Pointe clubhouse. For the family and outdoor enthusiast, Lake Russell offers the opportunity to fish, swim, boat, ski, picnic, canoe or kayak while observing nature at its finest. Richard B. Russell State Park is also a popular location for family reunions. White Tail Run is an easy drive from Atlanta, Augusta and Greenville, South Carolina.
